Cooke Varotal 20-60mm
One of a handful of examples of this lens available on the rental market in London. This one is in impeccable optical condition.
This lens was given the Varopanchro title as it resolves as well as the panchro primes. It is sharp and contrasty with great character, almost no chromatic aberration or breathing and it flares easily
It’s 6 leaf iris gives thoroughly enjoyable hexagonal flares. It has neutral colour rendition and of course the distinct and painterly “Cooke look” that is loved for the way it renders faces.
It is a super handy lens to have around, as it covers much of the range of a set of primes, yet it is lightweight enough to be used handheld. It is a fantastic choice for a fast paced or reactive shoot where changing lenses often would slow down the day, without compromising on optical performance or character.
All of our hand held kits are supplied with Microforce brackets to further assist with this type of production.
