ARRI Alexa Mini LF (FF)

With all the compact, lightweight form factor advantages of the Alexa Mini, but with twice the sensor area, the Mini LF is a significant evolution from Arri. 

Featuring two of the signature Arri ALEV III CMOS sensors put together side-by-side to deliver 4448×3096 pixels of high-resolution, full-frame goodness and a native aspect ratio of 3:2. 

A multitude of sensor crops, codecs and compression options allows you to find the workflow for you. The addition of REVEAL colour science workflows to ensure the LF is fully compatible with the new Alexa 35 means that you can shoot both side-by-side seamlessly. 

With a dynamic range of 14 stops the camera performs well in all conditions with a similar noise floor to the Alexa and Alexa Mini. In spite of increasing noise at high ISO,  the camera maintains its dynamic range allowing you to choose that noise as an option to your creative palette.

The Mini LF offers on-board power options reducing reliance on additional accessories as well as a media upgrade, shooting to 1TB Codex cards that mean higher frame rates at better resolutions and bit-rates are now available. 

The drive-slot on-camera is back to its favoured place on the left hand side of the camera and ready to record uncompressed ARRIRAW, as well as a range of ProRes options. 

With the highest vertical resolution of Arri HD cameras, the Mini LF is also perfect for shooting with a vertical format alongside full-width formats simultaneously. If you’re dedicated to a vertical shooting format then the Mini LF fits seamlessly into our vertical format adaptor, allowing the EVF, accessory mounts and plates to be in a normal orientation whilst the camera sits on its side.

The native LPL mount provides versatility and allows the camera to make the most of LPL lenses such as the Arri Signature Primes, lenses that were developed side-by-side with the camera for full-frame performance edge-to-edge. The included PL adaptor allows you to make use of all the lenses you know and love as well utilising the Mini LF’s S35 sensor crop options for making the most of smaller image circles. 

Weighing in at only 2.72 kilos without the cameras accessory cage, the Mini LF is a beautiful successor to the Alexa Mini, whether in a gimbal or drone as it shares identical attachment points with the Alexa Mini so that DJI parts designed for the Alexa mini, as well as Arri’s own MAP-1 plates fit perfectly.

This camera is a real step up, as a successor to the Alexa Mini.

The Mini LF has been utilised on feature film productions from “1917” by Sam Mendes to “Dune” by Dennis Villeneuve.
